Blabla Events are bringing a Pop-up evening to Hawkes Bay and we are combining a few of our favourite things; We love books, we love fine wine, we love sustainability and we love being inspired. SO we are mashing them together and turning a dark and cold Wednesday night on its head.
Join us on Wednesday 24th August at Steve Smith’s ( Steve is a Master of Wine) beautiful venue ‘Smith & Sheth’ ( we meant it when we said fine wine) from 6pm.
The event will go until 8.30pm, and will be hosted by the wonderful Michelle, founder of Half Light Studio; a strategic advisory and design firm in Hawkes Bay.
With a background in luxury PR, marketing and brand/web design she has over a decade of experience in consulting and supporting creative and service-based businesses. With hundreds of clients across a wide network of industries her expertise lies in connecting powerful and innovative strategies with compelling brand experiences.
Michelle is also a mama to two adventurous kids, addicted to self-development, ridiculously obsessed with all things 'design' and is a self-appointed hype woman and life optimiser.

We will be providing a tasting session of wines from the Heretaunga area. ( included in the ticket) and there will be gourmet food available from Smith & Sheth to pre-purchase on the ticketing site or on the evening.
As for the books… Just before you grab your big sack and fill it, here is how it will work:
*You each bring between 1 book you LOVED to read to swap, and I said 1, not 100 - I’m looking at you over there, yeah you.
We don’t want to see the titles, so if you can wrap your book before attending the event that would be great, but if you forget then we will have some wrapping paper for you when you arrive.
We will send our ticket holders a few questions about your feelings for the wrapped book/books you're bringing a week before the event, and you answer these by writing it on the wrapping paper or sticking onto it, along with a short blurb of what the book is about, so each swap will be decided based on how the book has made someone feel, instead of judging a book by its cover.
*We will have two special guest speakers telling us an inspiring story of their career, survival or success and these will be confirmed next week.
This is a small event with seating provided so ticket sales will be very limited to our secret book & wine society aka whoever gets them first.
