The Barden Party: A Midsummer Night's Dream Final NZ Show

The Barden Party was born in Laura Irish's Nelson backyard and became a sell-out across the country, picking up awards and accolades along its 50-show season. Now, the raucous, rockin' musical version of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, is on its way to the United States!

Lords, ladies and magical fairies, please join the cast for its final New Zealand show for the most glamourous and enchanted night in Nelson and help send them on their way as part of this special red carpet gala.

The Barden Party (The Bard + Garden Party) puts a modern twist on a vintage theatre experience. It's Shakespeare as you've never seen it. This family-friendly jukebox extravaganza makes Shakespeare accessible for audiences of ALL ages and experience levels. With lively musical outbursts featuring music by artists such as Billie Eilish, George Michael, Hall & Oates, this lighthearted comedy is the perfect entertainment for even the uninitiated.

This special performance also marks the end of 14 years of contributions Laura Irish has made to the arts in Whakatū. Join us to mark the end of her time here and her fabulous 40th birthday!
