Te Aitarakihi are hosting their first ever Night Market!
There will be international food, musical performances, arts, crafts and entertainment for kids.
The NZ Fire Service will be there with their escape tunnel, along with a bouncy castle and māori face painting for the kids!
Entertainment will begin with Arowhenua Primary School opening the night followed by the Aoraki Pasifika group. Then a Magic show for everyone to enjoy!
A woman’s singing group named Wāhine on Toa will perform, as well as our local Kapa Haka Group and TGHS to finish off.
We have a large variety of stalls, ranging from clothing stands to woodwork tables, māori arts, massage, crystals, and so much more!
You won’t go hungry, as we have LIama Cookie Drama, Hangi (can be pre-ordered – check out Te Aitarakihi Facebook page), Pacific Island food, whitebait patties, sea food chowder, kina, slushies, coffees and more.
Bring your Whānau, bring cash for the stalls that have no eftpos and remember:
50 Bridge Road, Timaru – 18th of November - 4.30pm to 8.30pm.

Also - a little insight about Te Aitarakihi and what is regularly on offer.
Te Aitarakihi are motivated and focused by our community needs, with a strong passion for education with all that we do being provided in safe environment for whānau and the wider community.

In the last few years there has been a large increase in the usage of our Centre particularly in providing community-based classes for Māori Language and Culture.
These cover a variety of subjects such as Kapa Haka, Performing Arts, Traditional Practices, Te Reo Māori, Raranga (weaving).
Tane Ora (men) and Hine Ora (young women) are regular organised networking meetings. There are plans to add more to this range of classes/programmes - keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.
As a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2021 Te Aitarakihi started the delivery of our Community Connection service, this aiming to support whānau and the general community. This service has grown and become an integral part of our Organisation.
Brenda Warren is our Community Connector and she is available to assist with making effective connections to appropriate services/agencies (government and non-government) in our local community.
For information on this service please contact our Kaitautoko (Support Worker) on 027 274 4489 or email support@teaitarakihi.co.nz .
