The Challenge
The Sunsational Challenge is back for 2022 and it's better than ever! From January 5 2022 several of the Council Facilities will be participating in the challenge.

The challenge is aimed at children under the age of 18 and encourages them to get out and around the District. The challenge card sets out a variety of activities for participants to attempt. Participants will collect stamps from facilities to complete the challenge card.

There are so many prizes to give away! If participants complete 4 activities they will receive a special edition South Canterbury Museum badge. Once 8 activities are completed the participant can redeem a free swim at any TDC swimming pool. Complete 12 activities and you can enter in the prize draw to win.

There is also a Sunsational Photo Competition that is a seperate draw to the Sunsational Challenge. The competition is open to all ages. To enter, submit a picture of you or your family completing an activity on the sunsational activities trail.

Activities are hosted by The Aigantighe Art Gallery, South Canterbury Museum, Temuka, Geraldine and Timaru Libraries. Geraldine Museum and Temuka Courthouse Museum, which are run by the community, are also part of the challenge. There are also a number of walks around the District that feature in the Challenge. More information about the locations can be found below.
