Story Craft Workshop with Melinda Szymanik

Melinda Szymanik is an award-winning author of picture books, short stories and novels for children.
Her recent picture book My Elephant is Blue, illustrated by Vasanti Unka, about children dealing with dark, heavy feelings, received a Storylines 2021 Notable Book Award, and is a finalist in the 2022 NZ Booklovers Awards. Her short story collection Time Machine and Other Stories was a finalist for the 2020 NZ Children’s and Young Adult’s Book Awards.
In this workshop learn how to knock an idea into story shape, create characters everyone will want to read about and write an ending that will leave readers wanting more!
Bring some paper and pens/pencils and all the questions you have about writing and being an author.
Adults are welcome to attend too.
