The best journalism has been described as the first draft of history. But how rough are those drafts? How much of what we think about modern history is determined by the version of events provided by governments that have something to hide?

Investigative reporter, writer, producer and editor Stephen Davis has worked in TV, magazines and newspapers internationally. He is the author of Operation Trojan Horse and created the podcast series The Secret History of Flight 149, writes the Reality Check column for the New Zealand Listener and teaches at the University of Otago.

Stephen will speak about his decades-long investigation into the UK government's cover-up of the real story of BA 149, a commercial flight that in 1990 made an unexplained emergency landing in wartime Kuwait – with terrible consequences for the passengers.
