The Ride NZ Cycling Festival is the premier Road Cycling event in NZ, with 4 days of cycling action taking in the stunning scenery of the Waikato region
The festival encompasses the New Zealand Gran Fondo (30/87/165km distances), The Vantage Elite National Road Championships, and an Open Time Trial. Based in the picturesque town of Cambridge, the event caters for all – from elite national riders to families and first-timers. Over the 4 days, participants will have time to take in the major attractions (such as the Hobbiton Movie set), spend time on two wheels, enjoy the atmosphere of the Event Village & Expo, and explore and relax in Cambridge.
Gran Fondo is an Italian term, that loosely translated means “big ride”. Gran Fondos are mass participation cycling events that have enjoyed popularity all around the world and include courses for all levels of riding. In 2022 we bring you 3 distances to ensure that wherever you are at in your cycling journey we have a ‘big ride’ for you.
All 3 rides take in the beautiful Waikato landscape with some good gradients to keep it interesting! Give yourself a challenge, a goal to train for with friends, and enjoy the sense of achievement that comes with participating in a Gran Fondo. We look forward to welcoming you to.
