The Hamilton Tri Club annual swim series is back for 2022.
There will be three distances to choose from of 300m, 1.3km and 2.6km based on laps of a course marked by buoys in the lake.
The March event we include a 3.9km for the really enthusiastic!
Each race is timed, and awesome prizes are awarded to the first male and female athlete in each distance with an overall series winner after the third and final event.
This year we are also holding a club challenge where points are awarded for all swimmers throughout the series and the best performing club will take home the prestigious "Champion of the Lake" trophy - so don't forget to register your association with your club.

Lake Puketirini is a deep freshwater lake near Huntly, formed from a disused open coal mine, water quality is regularly tested by Waikato Regional Council during the summer season. It can be pretty cold, so wetsuits are advised (and depending on the temperature on the day they may be mandatory)
Covid-19 - we will follow the requirements set out by the Ministry of Health and any further instructions from TriNZ. As the ‘traffic light system’ will be in force at the time we expect to be using vaccine certificates to ensure the event can go ahead in (nearly) all circumstances.
Safety - Surf Lifesaving NZ will provide on water safety and rescue and St Johns medical staff will be on site.
$5 surcharge for pay on the day (cash only).
