The Picton Christmas Parade and Carols - a family afternoon out to celebrate the start of the festive season. The community come together and enjoy the fun of seeing Father Christmas/Santa. The children have an opportunity to have a photo with Father Christmas/Santa on the beautiful Picton Foreshore after the parade around 3.15pm.
The parade participants line up on Broadway starting at the Picton Police Station. The parade includes voluntary groups along with business getting into the festive feeling. Lots of noise is expected and the Blenheim Pipe Band leads the parade. The crowd gathers on the foreshore for Prize Giving and the sing a long lead by The Bells. The school Kapa Haka will perform and there will be Free face painting for the children along with a sausage sizzle as a fundraiser for local school. Entry forms for the parade can be emailed or can be collected from Harcourts Real Estate on High Street. The Santa's post box will also be at their door for children of all ages to request their gifts for Christmas. Father Christmas/Santa will reply so please include you return address.
