Our Heritage Garden

Wellington Botanic Garden is classified as A Garden of National Significance by the Royal New Zealand Institute of Horticulture and as a Heritage Area by Heritage New Zealand.

Enjoy an easy 90-minute guided walk through our native forest and plant collections, learn about our plants, some of our early history and about our historic buildings.

Meet at the Founders’ Entrance, Glenmore Street.

To keep everyone safe, all walk attendees, including visitors, guides and tail-enders, must present their Covid-vaccination pass certificates. Children under 12 will be able to the join walks after they have been vaccinated, although the walks are not designed with this age group in mind.
