Opus Orchestra presents Made in Aotearoa concert - HAMILTON

Made in Aotearoa is a one-hour, early-evening concert in which audience members have the chance to interact with one of New Zealand’s most respected composers and the musicians of Opus Orchestra. Ross Harris will introduce his newly-commissioned work Chamber Symphony, then, following the performance, the audience is invited to stay on for drinks and a Q&A session. NZSO trombonist David Bremner is the soloist in Lyell Cresswell’s Kaea. What’s extra-special about this concert is that there will also be a demonstration of the pūkāea instrument, a taonga pūoro on which Kaea, the concerto for trombone by Lyell Cresswell, is based.
