Open Day - The Big Green Day Out

Join us this October for Nelson's Big Green Day Out!

Come along to this all ages event where you can celebrate and connect with nature while soaking up the atmosphere of the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary Open Day. Enjoy delicious street food, bask in the beauty of the pristine Waimārama stream, take a stroll along peaceful bush tracks or simply sit back and enjoy the birdsong. There will be a number of creative educational activities for the whole family, including a pop-up Kid's Activity Zone, a 'Build a Trap' Workshop as well as public voting and and an auction for the brand-new Sculpt Nature Symposium.

The Brook Waimārama Sanctuary is the largest fenced Sanctuary for endangered plants and creatures in the South Island. Close to Nelson city but hidden away, immerse yourself in the natural beauty of New Zealand native bush, breathe deeply and engage.
