Completed the Introduction to Harakeke Workshop?

This new workshop - Shapes, Forms, and Finishes has been designed as the next step to extend your knowledge and challenge your weaving skills.

Grow your Harakeke Weaving skills by exploring a range of different shapes from traditional rourou or food baskets to rectangles, or six-footed objects. Learn how to create a flap for a glasses case or purse. Make an opening to create a frame or tissue box cover (which is also one of the ways to start a pōtae/hat).

These shapes can be enhanced further by incorporating various finishes; rolled or plaited tops, and flat tidy edges that look great on placemats.

There is also the option to embellish your work by bringing in your own creative elements, by adding natural elements such as stones, feathers or shells.

Tutor - OZ Risner has extensive experience and knowledge in weaving Harakeke into beautiful shapes and forms.
