- This wānanga is for all skill levels.
- Rangatahi (12+) are welcome to attend with their caregivers.
- Tea and coffee provided. Please bring your own kai for lunch.
This wānanga is a part of Matthew Mcintyre-Wilson: Matariki Artist In Residence at Oxford Gallery, 20 June – 11 July 2022
Matthew McIntyre-Wilson (Taranaki, Nga Mahanga and Titahi) will turn the gallery into an active studio and be working on site.
Working across the disciplines of jewellery, craft, and object-making, Matthew re-articulates the forms, patterns and practice of raranga whakairo (plaiting) with precious metals. Matariki is a time to learn mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge) such as new skills and material preparations.
Exhibition supported by Te Puni Kōkiri.
*Please note that under the Orange setting of the COVID-19 Protection Framework, all adult visitors to the gallery must wear a mask unless they can show a valid exemption.*
