As the Arabian proverb says, “A book is like a garden carried in the pocket”.

This year, Featherston Booktown’s ever-popular and delightfully old-fashioned High Tea is proudly sponsored by Mrs Blackwell’s Village Bookshop.

As we devour a generous serving of sweet and savoury treats lovingly prepared by Jean and her dedicated volunteers, we will explore the special relationship between gardens, books and growing things with three writers who know a thing or two about it!

Join former bookseller, RNZ producer, and reviewer, Rob Kelly as he talks remotely with journalist and plantaholic Lynda Hallinan (The Joy of Gardening), and Kāi Tahu writer, and traditional Rongoā Māori health practitioner Arihia Latham about our love for gardens and nature.

Enjoy complimentary Mimosas from our wine sponsor for this event, JOIY.

Doors open at 2:30 PM. Books will be available for sale and signing.

The description of this event differs from the printed flyer. Lynda Hallinan will now be zooming in because she's tested positive for Covid.
