MODERN BUDDHISM
with Birgit Saunders

Buddha taught a long time ago and far away from here.
What relevance do his teachings have to us, right here and now?

This series looks at some of Buddha’s key concepts on the nature of being human that transcends time and place and shows how we can apply his advice to our daily life.

From the experience we can gain from our own meditation and practice, we can come to appreciate the value of these teachings and see that they are as relevant and beneficial to us today as they were 2,500 years ago when Buddha first taught them.

Happiness and suffering are states of mind and therefore their causes are not to be found outside the mind.
If we want to be truly happy and free from suffering we must learn to control our mind.

Modern Buddhism explores practical methods and meditations that help us to train our mind so we experience real happiness and have fewer problems.
