Canterbury Museum

Join Jo Armstrong and Sol Gil, members of Ōtautahi Christchurch’s Colombian community, in Isolation Hotel at Canterbury Museum for a showcase of Colombian culture.

Jo is the owner of New Zealand’s only traditional Colombian harp, which she learned to play during her childhood in Colombia. She’ll give a performance on this very special instrument and answer questions about it.

Sol will then take the floor to deliver a talk, ’10 Things You Didn’t Know About Colombia’. Sol, 38, was born in Colombia but has called New Zealand home for the past 17 years.

This event is free but places are limited so please register on the Museum website if you're attending. Please note attendees need to comply with the Museum's public health conditions of entry.

This event will be staged so that we can safely meet the requirements of the COVID-19 Red Traffic Light Setting. Numbers are limited to meet physical distancing requirements. If we need to cancel the event for any reason, updates will be posted on the Museum website and emailed to anyone who has signed up.
