Tenor saxophonist and composer Michael Gordon visits Dunedin to perform some of his original compositions with a local rhythm section. Dunedin jazz fans have heard Michael perform his larger arrangements with a septet; however, this intimate gig will provide a platform for Michael to show his improvisational skill working in a more flexible format with the Bill Martin trio.

Bio:
Bio: Michael Gordon attended Sydney Conservatorium and has spent the last 10 years living in Sydney. He has performed with many of Australia's finest jazz musicians such as John Harkins, Andrew Dickeson, Michael Griffin, Dave Panichi, Arthur Washington and Geoff Bull. He has also played many festivals with renowned Ethiopian singer Dereb Zenebe including the Tokyo and Iwate Jazz Festivals. Michael's music has been featured on ABC radio shows Daily Planet and Jazztrack and received multiple reviews in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian newspapers
