“What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” - Perspectives and experiences of Sam Scott.

Join us for an evening with Sam Scott, Massive Theatre Company’s founder and artistic director. Sam's kōrero will delve into her career in theatre and why she loves working in the arts!

Sam Scott has been teaching and making theatre for the past 36 years, 31 of those within the Massive Theatre Company. She will share her perspectives and experiences of growing a whānau based company, while encouraging creative curiosity in everyone she works with. Sam will share insights into why rangatahi are the "beating heart" of Massive and how personal stories and experiences are the backbone of the work Massive creates. Discussing the kaupapa of Massive and why Sam believes rigour, play and a desire for excellence are so vital to the work. She will also touch on some of the experiences and people who have contributed to her journey and what guides her.

Sam is keen for those who come to her kōrero to be active in the talk. She welcomes atendees to ask questions and contribute to the focus of the kōrero, like a Massive post-show forum.

The Monica Brewster Evenings (MBE) in association with Govett Quilliam – The Lawyers bring an impressive array of national and international artists and cultural thinkers to New Plymouth. For a different kind of night out, join us for talks, presentations and performances in a casual and intimate atmosphere.
