Matariki Ramaroa will once again light up Kāpiti with two weekends of extraordinary light sculptures bookending a month-long arts experience including MFF2022 - the Māoriland Film Festival!
Matariki Ramaroa opens at Maclean Park, Paraparaumu on June 24 2022 - the first Matariki public holiday with light sculptures, beach bonfire, musicians, artists and kai over the entire weekend.
From June 29 - July 3, Ōtaki will once again welcome the world to the 9th Māoriland Film Festival, the largest international Indigenous Film Festival in the Southern Hemisphere. Indigenous filmmakers from across the globe will share their stories in over 80 films screening at the MFF with award-winning feature-length drama and illuminating documentaries, to a diverse collection of short films.
Throughout the rest of the month-long celebrations, explore the amazing Matariki Ramaroa programme including live performances by TE KAAHU (Theia), MARA TK and JULIA DEANS.
Matariki Ramaroa closes with a weekend of Light sculptures at Ōtaki Beach on July 15 - 16.
