Join us at the Old School Arts Centre for a Matariki Solstice celebration, marking midwinter and Maori New Year with your family and friends.

Music, roving performers and an interactive art installation will fill the whole building. Hot and delicious pumpkin soup, seafood chowder, mussel fritters and fry-bread will be for sale as fundraiser for Raglan Kindergarten (and the bar will be open).

Throughout the evening you can mark the change of season by adding to an artwork in the gallery to farewell the old year and welcome the new, in the spirit of Matariki.

Roving performers will provide entertainment for children (and children at heart) earlier in the evening. In the second half of the evening there's a ceilidh upstairs - bring your dancing shoes! (If you’ve never done ceilidh dancing before, the caller will lead you through it, the band are old hands - and any occasional chaos is part of the fun).

Free entry and all welcome.
