Manākitanga - Whakairo Group Exhibition - Matariki 2022

Manākitanga demonstrates the strength of a number of Whakairo in Tauranga Moana with work including those by Whare Thompson, Jo'el Komene, Pete Smith and Dean Flavell.

Pieces include Whare Thompson's backlit carving Ha (pictured).
The piece in this image embodies Hā - the breath of life where in the Hongi is exchanged in a symbolic show of unity.

On display in The Incubator Gallery, 3rd June - 10th July.
