Join us at the Wellington Cable Car to see the tunnel lights and hear European music - in support of Ukraine on Europe Day.

9 May is Europe Day - a day when we mark peace in Europe through the founding of the European Union. This year, we do not have peace in Europe. Russia's unjustified and unprovoked war is an attack not just on Ukraine, not just on Europe, but on the entire world.

This year, the European Union dedicates Europe Day to Ukraine.

Here in Aotearoa New Zealand, the EU Delegation joins with the Wellington Cable Car and Orchestra Wellington to show our support for Ukraine. We invite you to join us and #StandWithUkraine.

Throughout the day the tunnel will be lighted in Ukraine's colours and from 3.30-4.30pm there will be a special performance by a string quartet from Orchestra Wellington. The quartet will play well known classical music including the Ukrainian anthem and Beethoven's Ode to Joy - the European Union's own anthem.

This is a free event and all are welcome. Come and enjoy.
