Ahoy young sailors of Whangārei! The R. Tucker Thompson is coming to town. Let your inner pirate go wild on a 2-hour sail adventure on the Whangārei Harbour.
Youngsters (and their adults) get to dress up as pirates and enjoy a special pirate sailing on board Northland’s iconic tall ship. It’s a chance to “argh!” and “shiver me timbers” while the children can have some fun and play pirates.
Get involved and help us hoist the sails, then once we are underway, sit back and relax while enjoying views of Whangarei from the water. For the adventurous pirates, there’s time for you to grab a harness and climb up the rigging or head out onto the bowsprit. Suitable for all ages.
This sailing is a fundraiser and the proceeds will go towards funding a place for a young person from the region on a winter youth development voyage.
No age limit, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
