Self-taught and having attended workshops but no formal art training, Colleen Schofield joined a country art group twenty-odd years ago. Being surrounded by very talented artists as a novice she was in mighty fine company. Soon after the group held a collaborative exhibition, Colleen put her art to one side and took on an eighteen-and-a-half-year real estate career. After that, she made the decision art will be her next mountain to climb, dedicating art as her new focus.

Colleen's new focus on her art career was kick-started with Covid19 lockdowns and restrictions. She is enjoying the excitement of creating abstracts, portraits, landscapes, and seascapes, with lots of colour splashes, pallet knives, textures and mixed medium. She has found YouTube, the virtual world, to be her teacher.

Colleen paints every day mostly and finds that getting really absorbed in the painting makes the time fly by.
