Jason Kerrison is an award-winning recording artist with a lifetime love for the sacred power of sound.

So in the spirit of his new single ‘Someone Should Love You’ featuring Leigh Franklin, Jason is holding an evening retreat workshop before his gig to demonstrate how we can use sound as a personal practice for reconnection to ourselves when we feel disconnected.

All ticket holders are invited to a 7 pm meditation session led by Jason to get grounded with sound, to be present to breathe and connect with our higher selves and our longer now.

After running a warm sonic bath of diverse ethnic, new age and electronic sounds to sit or move in, Jason will hold the space for safe group sharing in a SpeakEasy session. Participants will chat about healing frequencies, and learn how to create their own meditations, affirmations and manifestation songs. It is recommended to bring a journal for notes and insights.

After the workshop, a wonderful local musician will then be served to shift energies and entertain before Jason performs a 90-minute unique remix set of his own catalogue before a closing ceremony for the night with a chilled DJ Set.

For these shows, Jason has deep-dived into all the old studio hard drives and tapes of Opshop, The Babysitters Circus, Fungi, and his solo work to rebuild the stems from every song he's ever produced, including the recently released Jason Kerrison single ‘Someone Should Love You’ featuring Leigh Franklin so that he can lovingly remould and remix them live for a unique performance on this tour.

"Leighs’ performance on ‘Someone Should Love You’ is beautiful and quite special, so representing the song live in this new format means people can hear the entire studio session including her performance in a live setting.

My acoustic solo shows were always fun, but at these shows, I'll be completely remixing pre-recorded stems of drums, guitars, bass, and other instruments live. I'm basically playing a studio live whilst trying to concentrate on nailing a vocal performance. The sound will be pretty large, it'll be different from anything else I’ve ever done and a lot of fun to perform.

It'll also be nice to provide a space to pass on my take on sacred sounds and share my personal practices. We can get lost in meditative practice, and move to an invigorating sound bath and some good old-fashioned music. I want the vibe to be a bit like a mini-retreat where we can share and help one another, lighten the load with music, make meaningful connections, and take something away that will invite sacred sound to serve us in our lives.

When we feel alone or separated we might feel like someone should love us, when actually that person might be ourselves.”

One entry fee covers the entire evening. Early Bird Tickets are $25
