Jack Ta is a jazz prodigy who is fast gaining a reputation as one of the best improvisers in Dunedin. Still at High School, Jack has won numerous awards at youth jazz competitions and already plays piano for the Dunedin City Jazz Orchestra. For this special gig, Jack has put together two sets of his favourite jazz tunes, including a number of fast bebop tunes, swinging modal numbers and classics from the Latin canon. He is joined by experienced players Nick Cornish (alto), Pania Simmonds (double bass) and Kevin Finigan (drums).

The quartet will be joined by trombonist Finn McKinlay for the second set.

Note: Vaccine passes will be required for entry to the venue and patrons will be socially distanced inside the venue. Tickets will be strictly limited to 40 (no concessions).
