Garden Design: Landscaping may be the upcoming event you’re looking for.

In this course you will create a hardscaping design of the garden of your dreams – no matter what your gardening experience or drawing abilities.

Description
Do you have a garden or outdoor area that needs a makeover or a grand new plan? Have you spent money and time on plants and ornaments for your section and it’s still not what you want? If you’ve tried “giving it a go” before and now want great results, this fun and interactive course will teach you exactly how to create your dream garden. With clear direction in a relaxed classroom environment you will be able to solve problems and work out the best way to use your outdoor space - for any sized private area or shared community garden. You will be confident your detailed and high-quality hardscaping design is the best for your garden given its site and your budget.

Please bring some scrap paper, a notebook, pens, pencils and an eraser.

It is recommended you take photos of the area to be developed and bring them along to class to show and discuss with the group.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

Anticipate what hardscaping is required and draw up a full plan for a garden / outdoor space.
Identify and take into account your preferred style, wish list and work to site conditions (including location and aspect of the property.)
Accurately draw your detailed design on paper and to scale.
Use your drawing to build the garden yourself or use it to consult a builder/landscaper to do the hardscaping on your behalf.
Identify what materials will produce the style / end result
Work to a budget or know what range of budget to anticipate
Please note that this course DOES NOT include:

Planting design, although inclusion of trees will be considered in part of this course. Planting design is expected to be available in a later course.
Building the garden
Learning skills to build your garden
Recommendation of contractors and suppliers for hardscaping
Note: Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly. If you need to cancel your registration, here are our terms and conditions: "What You Need to Know".
