A number of the world’s most popular films are adaptations of a loved book or play – think Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Charlotte’s Web, The Book Thief, Whale Rider – and many others.
Patricia Grace, who wrote the novel 29 years before the film was produced, tells the unforgettable story of three cousins “connected by blood but separated by circumstances, who spend a lifetime in search of each other”.
Join Patricia Grace in conversation with Christina Andreef of the New Zealand Film Commission as they explore the journey of turning the novel Cousins into a film of the same name and why it took nearly three decades to achieve this transformation.
We acknowledge with thanks the funding support of Creative New Zealand.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Briar Grace-Smith cannot join us for this event as previously advertised.
The description of this event differs from the printed flyer.
