Floor Talk: He Pito Mata, I'm Energetic

Join Tui Harrington, the artist behind He pito mata, I'm energetic! and her curatorial collaborator Ioana Gordon-Smith as they wander through this exhibition, which explores notions of potential.

Having had too many school report cards in her life that included comments like “has potential, should try harder”, Turumeke Harrington is on a mission to offer us an alternative form of encouragement via mātauranga Māori, particularly through her Kai Tahu whakapapa.

Within this make-shift forest scattered with curtains, waharoa/ gateways, rugs and furniture, Harrington explores the interconnectedness of nature, people and the marae in an interactive space that reminds us that our futures are full of infinite potential.
