It's 1921. James Marsden and his wife Mary live at Isel House. Mr Marsden hated new-fangled things such as motor cars. He wouldn't even answer the telephone!

Local entrepreneur Thomas Newman, always wanted to be the first man to land at Nelson in an aeroplane so he charted one! It took off from Wellington on 11 November 1921. Running low on fuel it was landed in Marsden's paddock.

What did Mr Marsden and the household think of that? Come and find out. A fun and informative performance for the whole family. Bring a picnic and enjoy the park and beautiful gardens too.
