Film Scores Live

New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī is proud to present the NZSM Orchestra Live at The Roxy on Thursday 15 September. The event will showcase original scores and compositions by our students in sync with film scenes, creating a live cinema experience. Forming part of the evening are re-scored scenes from Antarctica: A Year on Ice and the rom-com Jinxy Jenkins and Lucky Lou, as well as screenings of animated science fiction films Night Light and Mira—performed with their original soundtrack. Of particular interest is the short animated fantasy film Spring, where audiences will watch the same selection of scenes three times, each with a different score and musical approach. Each of these pieces has been selected to explore music’s relationship to narratives, and are sure to contribute to an outstanding and fascinating evening.
