Lisa Feyen

Join professional printmaker Lisa Feyen of Ink Moth Print Studio for a one-day play with block printing on fabric or paper, suitable for beginners and mixed abilities. You will be amazed with how easy it is to repurpose op shop fabric finds, adding your own touch of magic to pieces for your home.

You will learn how to design and carve a block, ink it up and print on fabric and paper to create unique contemporary repeat pattern designs. The secret of creating seamless repeat pattern blocks that lock together will be revealed - ideal for pillowcases, aprons, tea towels, tablecloths, napkins, wrapping paper, stationery or even wallpaper.

Part of the day will also be dedicated to experimental printmaking with found objects, just for fun!

All materials are included and you will go home with your own designed and printed 100% cotton tea towel, plus a satisfying pile of printed pieces for your sewing or paper projects. You are encouraged to bring a selection of your own plain or patterned fabric pieces, or readymade items plus scraps (if you have them) to practice on.

Once you have learned how it all works, you can set up your own print studio at home with minimal equipment required.

Tools, inks and other equipment required will be available for you to use on the day. The workshop will take place in the Faraday museum, for an enriching experience you won’t forget.

What to bring:
