Matariki is a special time of year. Matariki is a star cluster that appears in our skies in the winter month of Pipiri (June-July) and marks the first month of the Māori lunar calendar. It is a time of new beginnings, reflection, gathering together and celebration.
This year our Matariki Exhibition is a welcoming space for whānau, friends and communities to come together to learn about Matariki, reflect on the year past, dream about the year to come and have fun! You will learn about Matariki, Maramataka - the Māori lunar calendar, the stars and much more.
The exhibition is indoors. All visitors over the age of 12 years old will be required to wear a face mask while in the building.
See the Facebook event listing here.
