About the tutor:

Based in the beautiful rural village of Upper Moutere (near Nelson, New Zealand) and surrounded by vineyards, hop farms, orchards and country gardens it will come as no surprise that Fleur Wood's work is largely inspired by nature.

'Stitched Paintings' is the term she uses to describe her style of work. Coming to stitch as a mixed media artist she has taught herself a variety of embroidery techniques which generally don't follow traditional embroidery guidelines, but work for the kind of mark making she enjoys creating.

Stitch for Fleur has become a bit of an obsession which marries her love of detail, colour, texture and allows hours of quiet reflection and Podcast binging.

When she's not in the studio Fleur will often be traveling and teaching workshops, sharing her self taught process and meeting like-minded floral lovers, which makes her heart sing.
