Children and young people with emotional and behavioural problems can be hard to establish rapport with, and even more challenging to engage in change-focused interventions. In this live broadcast webinar US psychologist, author and speaker Dr Steve Olivas will guide you through a collection of proven and focused brief techniques and interventions for working with kids and teens with emotional and behaviour problems. Participants will leave this workshop with a toolbox of effective strategies for success that will revitalize your interactions with children and young people regardless of your professional context.

Some of the key content areas that Dr. Steve will discuss include:

- Skills for establishing an interpersonal rapport to overcome resistance to change in children and adolescents
- Exploring the clinical manifestations of common emotional and behavioural problems/disorders and how to use this knowledge to better inform your intervention strategies and plans
- Exploring a diverse range of effective brief techniques for the management and treatment of emotional and behaviour disorders in children
- How to develop specific behavioural interventions that address the developmental stage of the child or adolescent

Dr. Steve is a strong proponent of “Edu-tainment”, with nearly 30 years of clinical experience and a background in improvisational comedy, his entertaining teaching style (and appropriate use of humour) will enhance your learning experience, improving the retention and utilization of the ideas that will be presented.

This webinar is open to anyone but will be of particular interest to professionals in clinical, education and support or development roles with children and young people.
