Eastern Sound Collective Mega Monster Finale

The Eastern Sound Collective residency with Meow has come to an end and we have prepared the biggest party to end the year with all our favourite players.

Prepare for a special event of one-off collaborations featuring award-winning Jazz Double Bassist and composer Umar Zakaria as he plays with HipHop MCs Sujai and thrillpvck thari. We also have an assortment of special guests from the collective, including N/A, Jeline, Philip Kim, Terry Liu and many more.

It's been an epic year celebrating Wellington's Asian talent. Come along and help us finish this very special season with Meow with a big bang.

About the acts:
Umar Zakaria is a double bassist and composer who received the Tui award for 'Best Jazz Artist' in 2018 from Recorded Music New Zealand. He is known for uniting diverse musical traditions to inspire communication and cooperation across cultural boundaries.

HipHop MC and producers Sujai and thrillpvck thari will be joining Umar and band for a one time only collaborative performance that everyone will be talking about for months to come.

Also, for one time only. The mysterious N/A will be opening the evening with an electronic set. Many rumours have been spread about the duo. They practice only in the depths of Akatarawa valley, speak in an ancient tongue, and have platinum records under a different name before denouncing all material possessions. Who knows what's true, come and see for yourself.
