Why doesn’t anyone teach drawing and painting in the same course? We do. We think it makes sense.
Are you stymied because you want to draw and paint but no courses offer both?
It’s often advantageous to improve our drawing skills because we know it can enhance our paintings. Regardless of your style, like most things, the more skills you develop the better the results. So here’s a course that helps you with drawing and painting. They are not generally exclusive.
Many artists draw or sketch an idea before they paint. There are countless reasons for this; exploring compositional options, studying light, defining tones, perfecting perspective, or just a plain old practice run.
This workshop provides an opportunity to improve your drawing skills and therefore enhance your painting. We will look at key elements inherent in art and design through a series of exercises. A variety of techniques and approaches to drawing and painting will be explored as we practice the basics and work towards developing a more advanced skillset. Bring your own projects to work on in the studio as there will be time for you to explore the concepts further in your own painting project.
This is an opportunity to have more fun with your painting through developing your drawing skills.
This workshop will run in 9 week terms with some terms having a break mid way.

Term Trip is $480
Purchasing a 9 week term trip means you get one free session for a friend so you can bring them along at any time during the term.
Materials
Notebook – if you are inclined to jot down some of the principles of design etc. that we will go over.
Sketch pad A4 is fine A3 is perhaps more versatile.
Pencil HB or 2B and 9B
Sharpener
Eraser
We will have some materials here that you can use. We may also suggest that you bring different things along depending on the topic.
You can always purchase materials from here as we’ll have them on hand.
