Der Ekstatiker is an exhibition of recent oil paintings mainly done in a Covid world.

The struggles and tragedies in many lives in this pandemic are undeniable.

Luckily for us in our Broad Bay haven Sarah and me have kept working. I am happy immersed in my studio and briefly ecstatic when I hit the 'sweet spot', an image which is potent, jarring and yet lyrical.
The work in this 2022 exhibition at The York Street Gallery encapsulates this period of intense mahi.
