DAF 22 - Olveston at Six, 'Oboe Quartets'

Olveston at Six continues the tradition of intimate chamber music concerts in the drawing room of the Theomin family home. The series presents some of Dunedin's finest professional musicians alongside guest artists from further afield.

The series is created for the festival by Tom McGrath. Since returning from Germany in 2003, he has performed as soloist and collaborative pianist throughout New Zealand. He joined the staff of the School of the Performing Arts of Otago in 2004.

Well known Dunedin musicians present masterpieces from the repertoire for oboe and strings by J C Bach, Mozart, contrasted with an important contribution to the genre by the young Benjamin Britten.
