Climathon Waikato

Calling anyone passionate about sustainability, environmentalism and climate justice! You're invited to join the Climathon Waikato team for a massive day of climate action.

Happening from 10am at the University of Waikato's Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts, 'Climate Connect Festival' is your chance to join Waikato's climate action movement.

Throughout the day, you'll get to listen to local climate activists, participate in ask-the-expert discussions, enjoy interactive activities and network with other changemakers ... all of which will equip you with the tools you need to take action towards a greener future. Oh, and did we mention there'll be free food?

We welcome those of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and genders to join us. It doesn't matter whether you just want to learn more about sustainability, or are already a passionate climate activist ... there's something for everyone to enjoy during this exciting day of inspiration and action.

Here's a rough schedule for the day (but there are plenty more surprises to come):
11am: Climate Connect Festival Kick-Off
12pm: Eco-Anxiety Workshop
1pm: Lunch and Ask the Expert Session
2pm: Sustainable Activities

Plus, an expo showcasing local sustainable businesses will be running from 10am - 2pm.

Tickets are free - you can either grab yourself an all-day pass, or register to attend specific activities.

This event is presented by Climathon Waikato - a hackathon-style event series designed to help you to use your skills to advance climate solutions, rethink the way we live, and create a future you're proud to pass on to the next generation. At the heart of it all is an Ideathon, where you'll be able to work in a team with fellow changemakers to imagine, explore and develop innovative solutions to our shared climate challenges. The next Ideathon is set to take place in late-2023.
