Christchurch Motorway Half Marathon

The Christchurch Motorway Half Marathon is being held on Sunday 27th February 2022, starting and finishing at the athletics track at Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub.

This is an amazing course and with no vehicles, allows runners and walkers to concentrate on your running. You will be able to see vehicles racing past on the motorway as you enjoy the relaxing fast run.

Christchurch Motorway Half Marathon will cater for all runners; whether you’re a beginner or an elite runner, this fast-flat course will give you the opportunity to do one of the fastest half’s, 10km or 5km you’ve ever done.

There will be a walking section in all 3 events the 5km, 10km & Half Marathon. With the Kidz Dash being a 2km run on the athletics track, 5 laps. This will give the children a flavour of the experience of running in a big event and on a world class surface.

We introduced the 5km in 2021 after numerous requests especially with the Start/Finish on the track.

There is a 2022 Series with South Island Half Marathon (7/8/2022) & Canterbury Half Marathon (11/12/22). Your 3 times add together and the series is determined with the fastest time. This is in the 21km Run and 21km Walk.
