Join us for the opening of 'Escape Mechanism' by the super talented Wellington artist, CHIMP. This will be Chimp's first solo show in Auckland after a stint of solo shows and mural projects across New Zealand.

Kicking off at 7pm on the 22nd of July and running until the 7th of August 2022, ‘Escape Mechanism’ features 10 mixed media works on board, each depicting a unique perspective of Aotearoa’s housing crisis, on display at Limn Gallery, 119 Ponsonby Road, Auckland.

As always, the opening night will feature our resident DJ, delicious food from our sponsor Burger Fuel, and refreshing beverages from our friends at Urbanaut Brewing Co.

‘Chimp’ is a New Zealand born street artist, whose style focuses largely on experimentation with different styles and colours within public and private commissions. The subjects for his art range from birds to portraits, abstract objects and personal motifs. Chimp often combines several of these styles to create contemporary pieces of art that are unique to his ‘post- graffiti’ style. Chimp began drawing from a young age, whilst also creating, designing and building various items and has continued this throughout his career. A love for not only skateboarding (downhill) and hip hop, accompanied by support from family and friends have all contributed to the development of Chimp’s art and professional practice.
