CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY WITH KINDRED'S KOHA CLASSES

Special timetable for Sunday 19th June!

To celebrate International Yoga Day Kindred is organising a day of community yoga classes by donation suitable for everybody from 8 am to 6 pm. Invite your friends, family, neighbours, colleagues or anyone you think might benefit from discovering the benefits of yoga!

You'll have the opportunity to meet our team of highly qualified teachers, try a sample class, chat with like-minded people over morning tea and discover the inviting studio space boarding the tranquil estuary.

8 am - 10:30 am
108 Salutes to the Sun followed by morning tea

The number 108 is sacred and significant in many ways. Traditionally, practicing 108 Sun Salutations is reserved for the change of the seasons.
108 sounds like a lot – you may not reach that number the first time. Regardless of the total number, you will be surprised at your strength and how many rounds you can do.

11 am – 12 pm
Family Yoga

Experience yoga together as a family, this class is structured so both parents and children can enjoy themselves while moving in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Get the whole family involved; Mum, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa and the kids (ages under 5).

1 pm – 2 pm
Yoga for beginners

Sample a beginner's yoga class with an introduction to the basics. Come along to learn yoga in a safe environment, classes are run at a slow pace covering the basic postures and providing a foundation for future classes and a personal practice.

2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Hatha flow yoga

Sample a Hatha flow class with Amy. Ha – tha means sun and moon, Flow – moving in balanced union while synchronizing the breath with movement. A Hatha Flow class joins Hatha postures that flow from one to another with some pauses for added instruction and teacher demonstration.

4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Yin with assists

During class, the teacher Debbie and assistant Bex will mindfully move from student to student giving hands-on adjustments and modifications to support each student to go deeper into their poses safely. The intention of this class is to provide practitioners with relaxation, stress relief and an enjoyable connection between their body and mind.

6:00 pm- 7:30 pm
Pyjama Restorative Yoga

Yes, you read that correctly, come to class in your comfy pyjamas for this cozy restorative yoga class. Each reclined posture is held for longer than in conventional yoga classes, often with the support of props such as folded blankets to relax the body, reduce stress, and wind down for restful sleep. Stay behind after class for a hot chocolate or sleepy tea.
