Castlecliff Lights Double Release Tour with Space Trash

Castlecliff Lights is a four piece band based in Whanganui, NZ. Their genre bending psychedelic, ethereal, durge, indie rock takes the audience on a rollercoaster that sometimes takes the form of sweet, haunting reverb filled vocals and at other times culminates in a jarring all-encompassing wall of noise.

The band has been playing as a group since 2019 and during this time have played with the likes of Anthonie Tonnon, Linen, Soft Plastics and Goya. They are coming to DIY event space Secret Secret in Wellington with their pals, fast paced surf trash band Space Trash to celebrate the release of their two new singles

The Whanganui contingent will be joined by local band mystery waitress.
A unique and compelling middle-ground is found between the soft, beautiful songwriting of influences such as Nick Drake and Jessica Pratt, and the louder and more energetic sounds of influences such as Tiger Trap and Warpaint.

Castlecliff Lights' first singles “Caution to the Wind” and “Queen of My World” were recently released on October 6th 2022 and the band will be touring in November and December.

The band is comprised of John Wilson (Guitar/Vocals), Ellen Young (Guitar/Vocals), Helen O’Rourke (Drums), Ross Walker (Bass) . The group have worked on various musical projects, with Ross having played in bands such as Faster Pussycat! Kill! KiIl! and Connan and the Mockasins and John and Helen previously playing in Wellington band Draghound.
