Have your ever admired the bold prints of Pablo Picasso or the pop art of Andy Warhol? Do you want to make limited edition prints as gifts for family and friends, or build a top-notch artist’s portfolio?

Beginner or intermediate, this printmaking course might be just what you are looking for...

Experienced educator and printmaker Cate Godwin will guide you through the process of making relief blocks in wood or lino, and printing them on paper using specialist printmaking inks. This process is fun and forgiving; you don't need to be able to draw or have any previous experience to give it a go. You will be amazed at the results you can achieve in just 6 classes!

Places are limited to 10 people. A waiting list will be maintained for future workshops.

Create your own original prints in six weeks.

The course covers the following:

Lino cutting techniques
Compositional devices, drawing and sketching ideas for print)
Single colour prints
Inking up and registration
The colour reduction process
Finishing techniques: chine colle’ drawing back in with graphite, watercolour addition
Optional - multiple block colour prints
The impact of paper choice on your final print

Cate Godwin has taught secondary school students for many years. More recently, on behalf of CAN and The Print Council of Aotearoa, Cate is teaching adults. She works consistently in her own studio, experimenting with techniques and exhibits regularly.
