August is family history month and is a good time to begin or restart your family history with so many great events happening. Join Auckland Libraries’ family history librarian, as she takes you through the basic of beginning your family history and lets you know what resources are available to assist you getting started.

Expand your knowledge further with Auckland Libraries, Genealogical Computing Group, Ancestry, MyHeritage and NZ Society of Genealogists and many others at the Auckland Family History Expo 12-14 August at the Fickling Convention Centre.

About the speaker:
Seonaid Harvey (RLIANZA BA IL Dip RIM) has been senior research librarian, family history specialist, for more than 12 years, and is based at Research Central, Central City Library. She looks after the international family history collection, helps customers with the research which includes Book a Librarian appointment, provides training for staff and customers; and organises events like the Auckland Libraries HeritageTalks and the Auckland Family History Expo.

She has spoken at various libraries around New Zealand, as well as for the NZ Society of Genealogist, Australasian Federation of Family History Organisation (AFFHO) and Unlock the Past conferences.
