Avalokiteshvara Mantra Retreat
with Birgit Saunders

Avalokiteshvara is an enlightened being who is the manifestation of the compassion of all Buddhas.
His mantra OM MANI PAME HUM: O Avalokiteshvara, please bestow the precious jewel of enlightenment to liberate all living beings.
When reciting this mantra we train in the compassionate mind of bodhichitta; the wish to become enlightened to benefit each and every living being every day.

In his most recent book, the Mirror of Dharma, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso has given us a beautiful, concise commentary to the practice of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion.

This brief commentary is an oral instruction that gives us a unique and direct tantric method for developing universal love and compassion.

During this half-day retreat we will learn about this practice and especially Avalokiteshvara’s mantra. We’ll look at the meaning of the mantra, the benefits of reciting mantras, together and at home. Then we’ll set ourselves up with a daily practice using the sadhana and collecting one million mantras, at home and at the centre if you’d like to.

Hope you can join us for this special experience: Everyone is welcome.
