Festival of Colour

Aspiring Conversations is a biennial festival of ideas and conversation held in the Wanaka region. It delivers a programme of high-calibre speakers, people our audiences would rarely get to see outside of the main centres, as well as free community events and a school outreach programme. Check our website for programme details (from January 31, 2022).

Our 2018 festival ideas can comfortably be called a “world class event”, with one Prime Minister (Jacinda Ardern), one ex-president (Ireland’s Mary Robinson), one of the founders of the Green Party, two Oxford professors, three Rhodes scholars, two leading scientists, and a sprinkling of other fine writers and thinkers and musicians among our speakers.

We aim to inspire, motivate and feed the minds and hearts of both locals and visitors, through a series of talks and conversations with high profile speakers tackling issues of real importance and relevance to our audiences.
