Artist Talk with Teresa HR Lane

Exhibiting collage artist Teresa HR Lane will be in the gallery this coming Saturday to talk us through the collection of works in her solo show "Deeply Sorry Future".

Recently returned to Te Tai Tokerau, Lane's new collection of works reflect her thoughts and deep concerns for her immediate environment in the far North, in particular our native flora and fauna. "Our colonial history was motivated by exploitation and greed, and disregarded the concept of respect and sharing, violating and stripping bare everything that could be taken for profit...Collage is the place where I will begin an apology to this land, reconstructing an imagined place, cobbled together with what has been and what could be."
